I got a few emails asking me about the sheep shearing after this post. While I wasn’t there to shoot video, I did play around with the video function on my SLR to mixed results. But here is some video for those interested. Enjoy.

About This Site
140 miles east of cool is both a place and a space.
As a place, 140 miles east of cool is where I live–exactly 140 miles east of Bozeman, Montana in the “Magic City” of Billings, MT.
As a space, 140 miles east of cool lies at the margins of the metaphorical epicenters of the amenity west: places like Bozeman, Aspen, and Boulder.

Guy, I’m so glad that Brad captured this of you and David. What a gem to have. Nice shearing and nice videoing, Brad!
Hello I am the shearer who was shearing 17a. I want to say thank you for posting the article and this video of my older brother, David, and I shearing. My brother past away in the fall of 2009 and this was one of the last jobs we did together. It is a great feeling to find something like this. Thank you very much.
Guy, it was a real pleasure watching you and your brother shear that morning. I’m glad you found the pictures and video and I’m sorry for your loss. I’ll shoot you an email: you’re more than welcome to have any/all of the pics or video.
Hello,
Thanks for article. Everytime like to read you.
